Before Ralph & Mimi, Roya Manouchehri launched her children’s brand Manouchehri. A store had never really crossed her mind until she was exhibiting at a wedding fair and a photographer told her about a gorgeous shop in the heart of Hexham that would be a perfect next step. Sheila (mum) and Roya went to have a look at the store the next week and just like that they had signed for a shop. 

Having a fashion degree, Roya wanted to curate brands that were not only well made, but also worked with her aesthetic of tradition and keeping children young. They visited trade shows in Italy to find brands that were in line with their vision. 

Sheila worked daily in the boutique meanwhile, Roya still worked from her studio that was located at home. Only coming in store on Saturdays or specifically for bespoke appointments. This system worked perfectly for 5 years, they started adding a small selection of ladieswear. People were beginning to request more ladies bespoke pieces too. Covid hit and everything stopped, businesses everywhere on the high street were closing and they decided it was time to either sink or swim. 

On 1st of October 2021 they opened the doors of their new store in Hexham Market Place. They have not only expanded their location, they have also expanded their offerings. Now, you will discover menswear, womenswear and childrenswear as well as a range of shoes, accessories and gifts. 

Roya has moved her studio on to the first floor. Bespoke has grown to include menswear. Now, if you want to call in for a bespoke appointment you can simply pop in and be seen on the same day. Although, appointments get booked in quite far in advance so we recommend booking early to avoid disappointment.

The top floor has a ladies hire showroom called The Style Muse, viewed by appointment only. You can try on garments in privacy with the help of a stylist to talk you through what works for your body type. 

Last but not least there is designated sewing school where you can come and learn how to make your own clothes.
